Department of Information Engineering

Six specialties are contained in this department, they are: Design &Production of Animation, Computer Multimedia Technique ,Computer Network Technique, Software Technique, Computer Information Management, Computer Communication with 946 students from 10 provinces. Computer Multimedia Technique was identified as “College Pilot Major in Teaching Innovation” in 2009.

It has 4 staff rooms of Computer Basic Courses, Computer Software,Multimedia and Animation, Computer Network and Communication with advanced teaching facilities : Computer Network Training Center, Computer Communication Training Center, Multimedia Technique Training Center, Animation Training Center, Computer Hardware and Assembly Training Center, E-commercial Stimulation Training Center with many computer rooms and multi-media classrooms to guarantee the students’experiments, practice and training.

The department has now 31 full-time teachers and 10 part-time teachers with 16 master graduates, 1 professor, 8 associate professors, 15 double-quality teachers ,which makes up a rational-construction, young and vital teacher group.

The teachers in this department have achieved outstanding success since 2003 with hundred? provincial essays, over 10 scientific-research projects, 20 textbooks, many awards in teaching courseware contests and 20 awards in college teaching.

The department is equipped with perfect students-management group with 1 deputy secretary, 6 instructors to guarantee students’management strictly and orderly. The department’s students union and Youth League Branch organize all activities impressively by “three-self” system: self-management, self-education and self-service.

Scientific Technique Association of Information Engineering Department, founded in 2010, is a professional students’, including Leifeng Group for Scientific Service(computer maintenance),Perfection on Line ( graphic design), Embedded,? Cool-Net, Wordpress(construction of website), Star-wing Animation, Software Technique, whose aims lie in provide wide professional field for students to learn new knowledge, new technique on the base of self-learning, employment-orientation and teacher-guide. The association provides broad room for students to improve technical skill and knowledge.

In recent two years, the teachers and students of this department have got many awards in national and provincial competition, such as many single-awards and Best Organization Medal in “ 2009 National Innovation of Digital-visual Design” and the Third Prize for Teachers in “2010 the Second Network Skills Competition for Higher College”.

For many years, Department of Information Engineering has developed talents with high qualification of computer application who get consistent high praise from employing units and society by their strong and experienced skills.
