    Cangzhou Vocational College of Technology, which originated from Jin-Cang Chemical Engineering College established in 1958, is a national full-time academy that is approved by Hebei provincial government. It has the unique style of school administration and excellent school spirit with its professional gradation education.

    The address of the college is Chao-yang South Road, CangZhou City. The college covers 1,120 mu and the construction area is 98,000 square meters. The library has a collection of 247,000 volumes, the instruments and equipments in the college are worth 26.5 million yuan.The fixed capital comes to 225 million yuan. It possesses superior environment for teaching and research, and the standard laboratories and fieldwork bases for each specialty. The facilities of life are complete and perfect. The campus network that connects internet was created in 2001. The college embraces a qualified faculty and staff of 553 with full-time teachers of 225, among whom there are 203 professionals and technologists with middle title, 143 professionals and technologists with high title, 4 experts enjoying an allowance of the State Department. There are nearly 6000 full-time students. The campus has beautiful scenery and convenient traffic .Now, the college is building new campus. According to the scale of ten thousand people and standards of a normal university, the investment for the first phase of the project is 130 million RMB; the building area finished already is 180,000 square meters, and the scale of running a school after being completed will add 3,000 students. The total program has been finished, and one modern campus will be set up.

    The college consists of seven departments, two divisions, and one academy, namely: Department of Agriculture-Forestry and Bioengineering, Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, Department of Economy-Trade Management, Department of Chemical Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Foreign Language and Art Design, Division of Basic Courses, Division of Further Education, Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences. It offers 43 courses such as Computer Application Technology, Computer Network Technology, Computer Communication , Electronic Business , Mechanical and Electrical Integration, Numerical Control, Electric Engineering Automation, Accountant and Audit ,Chemical Pharmacy Technology, Design of City and Town , Gardening , Animal Medicine and so on. 38 specialties have been approved to recruit students from 10 provinces and cities all over the country.

    The college has established the office of scientific research equipped with a strong team which is responsible for the scientific research work. In recent years, we have made 48 scientific research achievements, including 4 achievements at national level and 15 achievements at provincial level. Nearly 300 academic dissertations were published in the national level core periodicals, as well as 6 monographs. The college has established the mechanical and electrical center, the numerical control center, the PLC programmable laboratory, the advanced tissue cultivation center. And we have introduced a large quantity of advanced instruments and equipments such as the Japanese AA-6601 atom absorption spectroscope, the DaojinPZA-1000 liquid phase color spectrometer, the WV-1600 Daojin spectrophotometer and so on.

To make school-running achieve the unity of scale, quality and benefits, this college has been constructing the new school campus, creating an excellent unit and promoting the teaching reform by adhering to the principled standard of meeting the requirements of the people. The college has been promoting the teaching reform and bringing forth-new ideas by regulating the professional structure and cultivating the skilled and qualified personnel according to the market and the requirements of the economic development.

   The college aims at cultivating qualified practical persons in moral education, intellectual education, physical education and art education that are in compatible with the first line production, construction, management and services on the basis of training ability to meet the needs of professions. The college has been focused on practice teaching and skill training ,which leads to a practical and effective teaching system guided by the principles of “a specialty with more skills, a student with more certificates .“ After graduation, the students have chances to go to four-year colleges from three-year colleges , and they can also attend teach-yourself exams in the school to get bachelor’s degrees .

   To help the poor students finish their study career, the college has taken many measures including award, aid, reduction of tuition and free education while the college provides the students with chances of work-study program. The college, according to the actual situation, removes or reduces or puts off all tuition of the good but poor students

    When graduation, the students can work with their diplomas, post-credentials, NIT, certificates of English. The college has stresses the students’ employment, and development by establishing the special guidance center of employment and opening up more employment channels. The college has reached a long-term agreement of employment with some national large and middle-sized enterprises and foreign enterprises in Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, etc., where a large number of students graduated from our college are employed, and only a small part of students are working in the local administrative units and institutions. For many years, the graduates of our college have been highly praised by the employing units inside and outside Hebei Province.
